"A Day in the Wilderness" is operated by Par Avion out of Cambridge Airport. We had a spectacular flight in a six-seater plane (Nicholas the pilot, Frances and me and two other tourists) around the south coast, landing at Melaleuca, then a cruise down Melaleuca Creek into Bathurst Harbour, a visit to a former fisherman's cottage at Clayton's Corner, a surprisingly good lunch (smoked salmon, salad, cheeses, Pinot Noir – all Tasmanian) on a beach, and a return flight over the highlands. The best way of spending a day in Tasmania – recommended.
