We came here after visiting ("doing") the Tahune Air Walk. Forestry and Parks are both
Tas Gov, and neighbours here, but differences in approach to visitors can be sensed. At Tahune,
there are uniformed attendants at the ticket office, posters explaining what a good job forestry
does, cappuccino machines, an engineered walkway through the trees, and busloads of visitors
talking loudly. Here at the turnaround in the National Park, there are two inconspicuous buildings
for toilets and walker registration, and then (with encouragement, the walk starts up hill, it was a
hot day and I'm an old man) you can walk to a quiet lake, so beautiful it might make you cry.
