I wondered why One Tree Point should be named after a fairly young tree, and why
the tree needed to be enclosed by a chainwire fence with barbed wire on top and
a solid padlock in the gate. I got into conversation with a fervorous Turossian
citizen who explained that the original One Tree had been vandalised, and the
local council was doing its Turossian utmost to ensure the survival of this
replacement. I wondered afterwards what the council's response would be if
a more creative vandal were to plant a second tree in the fenced enclosure.
