The centre of a large financially-unsuccessful grazing property, it has been neglected and vandalised
since National Parks bought it. According to a small sign on the fence, it is now being "studied with a
view to preservation as part of the national heritage." Very sad. The mandarin trees growing round the
house seem at first sight to be prospering but the fruit are the size and texture of golf balls.
