Hartley Vale

Hartley Vale was a stopping place on the original route over the Blue Mountains, at the foot of a very steep
pass down the western escarpment. Later there was a shale mine, and a haulage way up to where I took this
picture. You get to this spot along an old railway formation from the road between Bell and Mount Victoria.
