14-JUN-2005

The long weekend break came & went just too quickly. Feeling much better now, so thanks to everyone, for your warm wishes. They sure helped to drive the ills away & I appreciate the kindness.

This Renault Gordini is the only one in Australia to have an electronic roll back roof. It was brought out from England in a container with more rust than is acceptable here in Oz.

It is actually going on display at a Renault Carclub show in a few weeks.

Renault seems to be well represented in Australia. -V-
This car over 25 years old.

A Renault 17 far from where it was born. Nice find.

Interesting, but so sick of how many Renault are arround me everyday... By the way, wich is Aussi's favorite car? What brand name?

Very cool. I'd hate to be the one to have to detail it and clean it up, though! Interesting angle to shoot it from.

They always did say that black cars needed to be cleaned and polished more often ;-)

Someone call Xzibit. He needs to 'pimp this ride' :)

I remember these. They all went rust coloured eventually.... part of the gallic charm!
- the dangers of buying on Ebay??? :) 'one careful owner'...

This looks like a great candidate for a restore. If only I had the space (and the tools, and the knowledge, and motivation, etc. it's nice to dream though!).
Guest 16-Jun-2005 01:23
We throw salt on the roads here in the winter to help cars rust faster : )
Guest 15-Jun-2005 23:15
I don't think this one is going to drive far
Guest 15-Jun-2005 03:50

Sight for sore eyes!

Hope your feeling better than the car looks ! Worth restoring though I used to have a 5 Gordini, it was a fine little car while it lasted !
Ric Yates14-Jun-2005 20:23
Glad you're feeling better, looks like the car needs some attention now!
Gayle P. Clement14-Jun-2005 17:46
Poor little car. I hope someone is going to restore it.
Lee Rudd14-Jun-2005 17:42
I did wonder what had happened over the weekend! From the thumb I thought something serious... glad you are well. I hesitate to say this is a beauty, but with a bit (ok, a lot) of TLC it should be ok
Guest 14-Jun-2005 17:31
Glad you're well, but what about the car.
Zak14-Jun-2005 15:12
The rustiness!
northstar3714-Jun-2005 15:04

Coleen Perilloux Landry14-Jun-2005 13:19
Looks like it could use a few things but it's amazing how good cars can be restored to their former beauty. Glad you're feeling better.

Might need some burning of the midnight oil :) it sure needs
more than a little loving...
Guest 14-Jun-2005 11:06
OMG....there is a lot of work to get this car up to scratch for a show.
