She had a brief moment of fun in the wading pool with the other kids...brief because her neutrophils levels were down so risk of infection was high....You can see the port under her arm in this shot. It is through it all non oral meds, chemo, antibiotics, blood transfusions etc have been administered the past year...there is a discussion going on about whether to remove it now or later. I hope it's soon...of course it means she will have another surgical procedure to do so but there is always the risk of infection with it in there too....less than a year now and chemo will cease. I live for the day!!
It was early hours of News Years Day, one year ago when Emily became extremely ill. By midday she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia or ALL it was 4 days before her 1st birthday. Emily is a twin and at this time Jorja remains uneffected though the risk of her contracting the disease is high and higher still as they are identical.
