Forgotten Moments 1941

My husband ( middle on stool ) his father about to be shipped out to Lae, New Guinea during WW11, his mother stayed home raising the family until Dad's return in 1945.
Another 2 children were born in 1947 & 1953

thank you for sharing this. I am a journalist and working on a series of articles for our local newspaper about the various wars and local people. It always amazes me when I'm interviewing people on what they've gone through. Recalling and honouring our history is very important, for sure.

I must consider my parents fortunate as mum was often able to live near Dad as he was not posted overseas until the very end. A treasure indeed.
