Hunter's Moon

Thanks to Bryan I found out that's what this full moon is called. Well, technically, it's no longer full but it still looks it to me. I saw this on the horizon on my drive home from work and it was HUGE then. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera so had to wait til it rose above the trees.

This is dedicated to my good friend in Doddridge County, DonnaR. She has been feeding a deer family for several years. They have become almost tame. One of the males, Spikey, has quite a rack now. Which is not good during hunting season and causes us anxiety every year.

Nice placement in the frame. I'm amazed that you can do that with a digicam.

Excellent picture and story too Karen, you are always connect them so nicely both.
I really cannot do that on my pictures because English is not my Mother language.

I guess the name goes way back to when hunting for food was necessary & not just for the thrill of the hunt. I hope your friends deer get through without being targeted.
This is a great shot Karen. Love how it's just hanging there above us all.

Check the site above if you want to be a little bit disillusioned.

This is the best "Hunter's Moon" I have seen so far because you captured the color. Don't like the name however as I feel for the animals.

Great moon shot,Karen.

Definitely one of the best moon shots I have seen. I like that you kept the moon off to the side instead of center.
