WOW Everybody screws everybody at some point in history. Get over it nothing can warrent toe killing of a mans children. If I were Mr Clay I wouldn't have stopped untill there entire tribe were wipped out. Thoso kids did nothing to deserve what they got. Mayby Mr Clay did so it should have been him and I'm sure he would of rathered had it thatr way. Come off your high hourse. And for the record I am 25% indean And my wife is 40%. We worry so much about things that dont concern us that we forget what makes us human. Is it the right to kill another mans children and burn one alive. that snot human. thats savage.

I currently live in the old log cabin that was said to be built by the Clay family but I cannot verify this. My home is on the historic register.

Yes I do agree that as a nation of whites and Indians we should aknowledge thw loss of both people. But if you think that the murder of two chilren white or Indian is not a tragedey or masacure you are not worth the breath your mother gave you.If the family Clay ever murderd two Indian children and then burned another child at the stake I would hope we as anation of both whites and Indians would erect a monumont for the Indian children as well. The fact remains the small children that day were masacured. And we should remember History in its entirerty. And yes me having Indian in my blood that means I believe that the history books should be rewrote on alot of things cocercing what the white men did to the Indians. So to conclude my thought when your ancestor fucks up own up to it and deal.

THOUGH IT IS SAD THAT THE CLAY CHILDERN DIED, IN ALL THE TRIBUTES MADE I SEE NONE TO THE INDIANS WHO FIRST INHABITED THESE LANDS AND THE ATROCITIES PLEGED ON THEM AND THEIR CHILDERN. CONSIDERED SAVAGES AND MURDERS BY ALL WHO ARE LEAVING COMMENTS I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT THE NATIVES NEVER ASKED FOR ANY OF THE SETTLERS TO INHABIT THIS LAND NOR PLEGE THIS LAND WITH SICKNESS, DEATH AND THE GENICIDE OF AN ENTIRE RACE OF PEOPLE. WHILE YOU ARE PUTTING UP PLAQUES IN MEMORY OF ALL WHO HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES AT THE HANDS OF THOSE BRUTAL SAVAGES WHO MASACURED THE WHITE PEOPLE, WHY DO YOU NOT ALSO PUT UP PLAQUES IN HONOR OF ALL THOSE NATIVE PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES AT THE HANDS OF A SAVAGE, GREEDY, MURDOUS RACE OF WHITE SETTLERS KNOWN AS A CHRISTIAN, LOVING, GOD FEARING PEOPLE LOOKING FOR FREEDOM? OR WOULD IT BE TO SHAMFUL FOR YOU TO ADMIT THAT THE REAL VICTUMS HERE WERE THE INDIANS? THERE IS AN OLD SAYING AND IT GOES LIKE THIS, "WHY IS IT THAT WHEN WHITE MEN KILL INDIANS IT IS CALLED A GREAT VICTORY, BUT WHEN INDIANS KILL WHITE MEN IT IS CALLED A MASACURE?" I AM LAKOTA SIOUX OF THE HUNKPAPA TRIBE AND PROUD OF IT!
