Just how far would you go to get a family pic?

We stood gaping as this young family climbed over boulders at Great Falls, figuring we'd be getting a Pulitzer for photos of last moments of the child. They couldn't have been more than 5 feet above the ripping water.

Canon EOS 5D
1/350s f/6.7 at 43.0mm iso125 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

I can't believe that some people really can be that stupid! I'm having goosebumps just by looking at this picture.

Unbelivable. If I was there you would have gotten a picture of me kicking dad in the river while I "rescued" the little girl. Stupid.

Amazing! Words fail me.

I have a shot (never posted) of a mother letting her toddler stand on a castle wall with a 100ft drop the other side. I was on auto-pilot thinking the picture my be evidence! Thankfully no harm was done but it scared me as a parent !

We were all setting our cameras to multi-shot mode, set the right DOF, make sure it's a good exposure ... all in search of the Pulitzer in the event of tragedy. I was so shocked when I saw this - how stupid can someone be? And this shot wasn't even the worst - the kid was all by herself at one point, one small slip from death in the falls below. Unbelievable.

Sadly we have " visitors " do this all the time & it always results in tragedy... great candid, Karen.

And you of course were ready to submit the second Pulitzer. Great catch.
