Was fortunate to spend the day with my buddies from PSRI (Photographic Society of RI) at the Wind Over Wings bird rehab facility in Clinton CT today. We we treated to 12 different raptors with various degree of injury, mostly human inflicted (from autos and truck run ins to gunshot wounds) that made them unable to survive in the wild. These birds are trained to the hand, and then presented for educational purposes.
This red shouldered hawk was hit by a truck, lost the vision and hearing on one side, and this eye is has diminished vision also.
