Barbed Wire

Ok, I know this is not the most wonderful thing I've ever seen, but probably ranks right up there with one of the weirdest. Walking thru the woods late this afternoon almost got myself really tied up in the barbed wire, which was winding thru the tree.

Barbed wire ought to be banned. It is evil stuff (OK, the barbed wire isn't evil, but the people who erect it to prevent access are).

Ouch! I somehow feel sorry for the poor tree, though maybe I should feel sorry for the barbed wire...a rather odd situation for both of them, I guess. Good eye! (As if the barbed wire hadn't grabbed you and said "Hey, take a picture of me!")

Cool. Reminds me of a tree we had when I was little - it was growing next to a fence, and it totally swallowed the fence up over time.

I am always amazed at how trees can engulf some of the oddest and ugliest things. This is a little scary. As a photo though it is pretty cool.
