This was Ellsworth Statler's first hotel, built 1905-1908 at Washington and Swan Streets (SE corner). It remained the Statler Hotel until 1923, when the new Statler Hotel opened on Delaware at Niagara Square. It was then renamed the Hotel Buffalo, the name it kept until it was demolished in 1968.
When built, it was the first hotel in the world to offer a bathroom in every room.
