Mike Zimpfer 15-Nov-2009 05:26
I graduated from Ken in 1963. Besides being a fine school with great teachers, we had fantastic football pep assemblies. I remember that when we sang the alma mater everyone ( squeeks, geeks and hoods) sang. Also, the mosaic compass in the main hallway was not to be stepped on. It was a great time to be in high school.

I graduated there in 1966. Great school. Too bad the morons took it downhill. Great teachers and most of us wanted to learn back then. What a shame for Ken High to go down like it has. But then again, what do you expect when the students rule the school because we're afraid to give the "kids" a trauma.

Class of 1967 Also-A lot of the teachers were great! Mr Kelly was one of the nicest people you could ever meet, unlike vice principal Blomberg. Mr G. was nice, Ms Reagan, Coach Tontillo, Mr Lipsius, so many. Such a shame to close a great place like this, and now I wish I could go back. Thanks to the English teachers who helped me to get a book published! Can't forget the Ken Bennett assemblies either...:-)
Cynthia Lipsius 19-Nov-2007 16:51
My father(Hugh Lipsius)was a teacher and football coach at Kensington for many years. Sad that Kensington has closed - seems I lost another piece of my Dad.
Evette 23-Oct-2007 17:42
WOW! Thank you for sharing. I graduated in '81. I too was very sorry to hear of it's closing.
Jim K 10-Oct-2007 02:12

I was not aware that they closed Ken High. When did it happen? What year did you graduate? I graduated in 1967.
Guest 31-Oct-2005 18:32
This is my alma mater. Sure wish they hadn't closed it. That building holds lots of memories for me and I'm sure so many others.
