I attended PS 31 from 1967-1976, we were the bicentennial graduating class. I HAVE FOND MEMORIES OF PS31 and was taught by some of the best teachers in the city they really cared about you. We were the first class to have a year book.I hated social studies but Mr. BALDON made is a fun class and I did great.I returned to PS31 as a mental health counselor and was very happy being able to give back to a school community that give so much to me.

I graduated from 31 1967. I really enjoyed going there. I can still hear Mr. Chalmers telling kids to get out of the park and get in school. My favorite teachers were Mrs. DeBerry, Mr. Tisdale, Mr. Howe. My father also attended 31 and we both had Mrs. Woods (history teacher). My father said when she came she was fresh out of school. I still keep in touch with some of my classmates. I would like to have a renuion or at least hear from some othr classmates

I wonder what happened to one of the best teachers in the world who taught here. Mrs. Douglas. She was my 8th grade English teacher. She used to lecture us about life and call us 'little people!' She made us read works like Moby Dick, Billy Budd, Beowulf, Alfred Noyes, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Emily Dickenson, Poe, Edna St. Vincent Millay, etc. She instilled in me a profuse love for classical poetry and literature. I'll never forget PS 31 and the teachers there: Mrs Shields, Mr. House, Mr. Chalmers(principal)

I attended School 31 from 1973 to 1981. I loved every year I spent at this school. The teachers were magnificent and the principals were caring. The schools in buffalo were better around this time. The student fought but the teachers, the principals and especially your parents did not take any mess. You went to school to learn and if you got in trouble while in school you were sure to get it went you got home.

Beautiful pic. I attended PS 31 from 1959-1964.
(Been away from Buffalo for 20+ years)
I remember that PS 31 had a beautiful auditorium, staircases, and a great swimming pool.
Many of the schools here in the south are new, but cannot hold a candle to Buffalo's beautiful architecture.
Looks as if there have been some improvements to the school.
Wonder if Sperry playground is still across the street?
