Strand

1800 Clinton St. Buffalo

It's very difficult to identify this as a theater, unless you get a side view, then it is readily apparent, especially with the early 20th century ventilator still on the roof. The front has been extensively remodeled, but upon closer examination, some of the original terra cotta remains.

Lived in Kaisertown neighborhood. Went to the movies here often..25 cent Tix, Double-Features w/ a Cartoon to start. On Halloween weekend, the E. Clinton Businessmen's Asso. would hold a Costume parade for the kids, followed by 50 Cartoons for free! Came home w/ a headache...but still LOVED it! Yrs. later, the bldg. was converted to a ballroom & our St.Casimir's C.Y.O. would rent it (as a fundraiser for our clubroom renovations), to hold youth dances open to the public. Volunteered @ the Soda Bar/Coatroom & had a ball!
