Attica consists of four main cell blocks, each with 12 galleries of 42 cells (in a strange quirk, several galleries in C Block have 43 cells). As originally constructed, that would be at least 2016 cells. Add in the Reception Building and Hospital, plus the newer E Block, at it's height, Attica could house over 2300 inmates in one man to a cell housing.
