60 Pontiac 389 4 Bbl

Model year 1960 brought 9 variations of the 389, including 2 Super Duty's.

The base 389's were 2 bbl's, putting out 215 and 230 hp. Following were the 4 bbl's, rated at 235, 283 and 303 hp. Then came a tri-power rated at 318 hp. Then another 4 bbl rated at 333 hp.

The upper two 389's were called SD's, for Super Duty, both tri-powers. The 348 hp was a factory option, and the 363 hp was a dealer installed, over the counter option.
