February 10

London

Andy

Something more classic...
I am quite proud of this handheld shot!
(no image stabilization)
In fact, I never use my tripod, it's too ennoying to carry everywhere
and to unfold when I want to take a photo.

Yes, it's good...good expression on his face.

It is a very interesting one. The location is unusual & both the light and his pose are great. Well done.
David Clunas15-Feb-2006 11:52
I had hold a lot, but really need to use the tripod more, good catch
Guest 13-Feb-2006 00:43
Wow...I can see why you're proud of this one.
The lighting, the composition are great! I'm impressed that you hand held this at 1/5 secs.
So you're not using that nice compact tripod of yours,eh? LOL
Guest 12-Feb-2006 19:43
oui, excellent !

A fine modelling shot, Kim. He reminds me of someone famous...

I'm not steady enuff for hand held at 1/5th!! Even if I hold my breath! And in this case I WOULD DEFINITELy hold . . . my . . . breath

Fungke, Andy is a friend and a colleague. He'll be pleased by your question. ;)
Kal, I took this photo at work. There is a gangway in the scaffolds above the studio.
and I used the light coming from bellow.
It's winter here and it's very cold in the morning but by the end of the day the studio is getting quite warm.
For this shot, I asked Andy to remove his Tshirt. I think he looks better this way and he does agree with me too.

Brilliant character study and the choice of light angle is so impressive. Bravo!!!

I`m with you Kim. I`m too always to lazy to take my tripod with me! I`m not sure but it seems he is not really amused with your shooting activities ?! Though an impressiv portrait with interesting environment!
