Nei Matangare Tarawa

apart from some locally grown fruit (Paw Paw, Tomato, melon & Bread fruit) and veggies,
the majority of food is imported. Rice, canned fish & vegetables, fresh veggies,
bottled water, electrical goods & clothing are imported, by John the General Store owner,
on a weekly charter plane. Heavier stuff including fuel is brought in by ship.
"Nei Matangare" is a Kiribatese word which means; "Miss Smiling" when translated to English.
