I was stationed at Beach Army Hosppital from January 1969 - July 1970 when I came back from Vietnam. I worked for SGM Moore and Colonel Herzog. It breaks my heart to see that beautiful place rotting into the dirt. Many happy memories there.

My oldest son was born here July 7, 1973. Next to last birth at hospital. I was assigned there from Jan 72 to Aug, 73.

I worked for a crane rental company and remember the first time I went out to the base on the north end where all the industrial companies have moved in. I passed the hospital and it looked like something from the Twilight Zone. Buses still parked around it and it looked like people had just abandoned it a week before. I'll never forget that and the way al the buildings looked then verses the way it had deteriorated by the last time I had been out there.

I have a 1951 Chevrolet sedan delivery. It is the car version of a panel truck. When it was new, it was a civil defense vehicle either on the base or in Mineral Wells proper. I hope to find some photos of it.
