Another Russian Tupolev, another Trauma

"4th Tupolev crashed in Iran during recent years!"
On Wednesday, July 15th a Caspian jetliner carrying 168 people, mostly Iranian and Armenian, nose-dived into a field on the route from Tehran to Yerevan, Armenia. It was a fiery crash that shredded the aircraft and killed everyone aboard.
Iran’s National junior Judo team members were also among the passengers.
The U.S. sanctions prevent Iran from updating its American aircrafts and make it difficult to get European spare parts or planes as well. The country has come to rely on Russian aircraft, many of them old Soviet-era planes.
The background belongs to Ararat mounts which has a special place in Armenian thoughts and culture.

I heard the news, and thought it was so tragic to hear of another plane crash in Iran.
Excellent caption you have written, the two countries need to come together, cooperate, otherwise they'll just be more needless tragedies like this. BV

Such a terrible tragedy. My most sincerest condolences to all the families who lost a love one in this crash. My fondest wish is that the relationship between our two countries will improve now that we have a new president. When there is conflict between governments, it is the people who suffer.

A tragedy, again and again and again. Horrible. I feel very sorry about this useless loss of lives. When will it stop ? When will people (or maybe I should say leaders)around the globe understand that all people, no matter where they are or what they believe, need joy and hapiness. My deepest condolances to the families who lost a dear one.

Well done, Ali! And Globalgadabout really sums up the situation perfectly. My condolances to all those touched by this tragedy.

a fitting and respectful tribute to those who lost their lives in this tragedy...the death of the young people all the more devastating...the people of Persia have suffered more than enough recently...this sad event heaps tragedy upon tragedy...sanctions have exacerbated so many problems here as elsewhere...it is heart-rending that the people pay for the politican's, the executive's, and the international communities' poor judgement..

Ali, this was a sad tragic loss and I'm so sorry that things are how they are. If I could and you could, I know we would change the world and at the very least the relationship between our countries. I hope things change very soon. You are my friend and I'm always thinking of you and your family.

Death is always a big tragedy and more in case like this one, where many people die in the same accident. My condolences to all Iranian and Armenian people.

This is again a tragedy...

Condolences to all the families.

Iran Air always wanted to order Airbus A330s ( for my great pleasure ) but the americans didn't want either ...

Great picture, not sure I understand the meaning. Unless it has something to do with the jetliner that went down in Iran.
