I usually prefer color, but in this case the color draws the eye to the bird's eye and beak. In the BW version the feathers seems to be the focal point which I think is better.

Both are beautiful shots, really displaying the gorgeous breeding plumage so well. Hard to decide which I like better. In general I like color more, but the b & w is really spectacular.
