great blue heron. making a photo to show the folks back home

Bunche Beach in Fort Myers, Florida

Some days I post no photos; other days I seem to be on a different pace...this is a composite of two photos from earlier today, but it's both ends of the photo experience....
the beach faces south west and is protected by a mangrove forest, so it's warm in the afternoon; but when night falls the temperatures will drop into the 40's again..

Hmmm... Birds of a feather.

I thought of you today when I went for a walk with the dogs along the coast. I am a very amateur bird watcher, so today I took the binoculars rather than the camera, and saw all manner of shore birds and waders. Now, if I get that 600 mm from Santa, perhaps I will be able to get a decent picture to match the binocular views....
