first winter laughing gull

Bokeelia at Pine Island in Florida

... I was supposed to be in the Everglades this weekend, but my van had a fit on
Alligator Alley and by the time my brother came to get me and my gear and the tow
truck arrived and the van got towed to Fort Myers.... well, I came home and
sulked all day yesterday and then decided to finish some unpacking and shuffling of
stuff and here's a photo from last week...

Isn't that lens on your new 20D great!? Sucks the far away birds right in. Sharp and detailed w/background out of focus. Bingo!

Rel bummer about the weekend plans. :( This bird looks like a three-D image. 400mm? Hmmm. I love the look. Too bad Nikon doesn't make a 400mm f/5.6 AF-S.
