This brown pelican was probably snagged by a fishing person who was casting
the bait. These birds gather wherever people fish and wait for a handout.

The hook doesn't look like it sunk in too deeply, hopefully the bird doesn't notice it too much. Poor thing. It's a great capture anyway. Beautiful yellow color in the head feathers.

Oh that is gorgeous, jypsee! So sharp in detail and the light is hitting the bird in such a fine way.
