After setting up the big lens on a tripod during the heat of a dreadfully humid afternoon at the refuge, this Common Pauraque only made me wait about 45 minutes before it stretched up and yawned nice and big for the camera. That huge mouth and the accompanying bristles help the bird to catch flying insects at night when it becomes active.
