Two-Tailed Swallowtail

Papilio multicaudata

We came across this monster swallowtail on a trip to southeastern Arizona, one of the best hotspots in the U.S. for butterfly observation, perhaps second only to south Texas or Florida, depending on who you ask. Here it is resting on Gambell's oak (Quercus gambelli).
