Hey Brian,

Thanks for your kind words. I remeber we had some good times together. You always wanted to go to Alaska. Looks like you're doing great. You're one tough mother.

Okay, I thought you were going to say that you wrestled it down into a submission hold
and carried it back home with the from legs draped over your shoulders! The way the
photo is taken it makes the horns look quite large and the hunters much smaller in
perspective. You guys look pretty satisfied with the results. I could have used some
of the body hair to tie some flies. Keep me in mind the next time you are out hunting!

Well, I think my rifle was off to the side next to my pack board. To move a large animal like a moose you need to brake it down right where the guy drops. You skin the top side and work your way down and load up your pack board. This bull took us six trips, which wasn't to bad with three of us there. Yes, I can still pack over 100 pounds without to much problem - just not to far up hill anymore :-).
This wasn't all that huge as far as moose go. This one had a 53" spread on the rack, they do get over 70" not many do but a few. As far as weight goes I would say it was like 1200 to 1400 pounds on the hoof. A nice average adult bull moose. Which was taken in Sept. of 06 on the Stikine River. I am on the left and one of my partners Charlie is on the right - Manny took the photo. It is VERY important to have parterns with good backs when moose hunting !

Brian, three questions. 1) Where is your moose rifle? 2) How the hell did you get the moose home?
3) Are those antlers huge or what?!?
