Vertigo

Experiencing strange bouts of dizziness possibly due to a collision of head with concrete some months back. I don't mind when the world spins, but I'd like it to be on my terms!

Very creative and beautifully executed portrait. Your firm hand-grit contrasts with the head disorientation, as if it speaks of struggles, battling and resolution to contend.

Very good that you chose to have the hand still in this shot. That anchors it, and in a sense give more power to the motion. Very well done.

This is my first post about one of your photographs. It's a terrific photo, even without the benefit of the caption. You are one of the relatively few photographers able to go beyond the mere depiction of a scene.

I am sorry you are feeling dizzy, Jenene -- you certainly help all of us to join you in that state with this image. What makes it work so well is the contrast between the blurred head and the static hand. I don't even see that hand as yours -- it is as if a mysterious figure is drawing a curtain open, revealing a spinning head within. Strikingly abstract and incongruous -- expressing the human value of disorientation quite well.
