NGC 4861 (IC 3961, Arp 266), spiral or irregular galaxy of type SB(s)m?, in Canes Venatici. In the
Arp “Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies” it is in the class of “Galaxies with Irregular Clumps”. Taken April
26, May 11, 12 and 13, 2023. Imaged with Starlight Xpress’ SX-825 camera and a Celestron EdgeHD
9.25 at f10, on a Losmandy G11/Gemini mount. The L subframes were 12 minutes binned 1x1, while the
RGB subframes were 4 minutes binned 2x2, resulting in the following total exposures L:R:G:B (in min)
= 456:60:60:60. Captured with Nebulosity, calibrated, and sigma combined in Siril with other
processing using PixInsight LE, Photoshop CS and GIMP. North is up.
