(Arp 269)

NGC 4490 spiral galaxy of type SB(s)d pec and NGC 4485 IB(s)m pec in Canes Venatici. Together these
galaxies make up Arp 269 which is in the class of “Double Galaxies with Connected Arms” in the
Atlas of Perturbing Galaxies, by Halton Arp. Taken on the nights of May 4, 5, 7, 9 and May 10, 2021.
Imaged with Starlight Xpress’ SX-825 camera and a Celestron EdgeHD 9.25 at f10, on a Losmandy
G11/Gemini mount. The L and Halpha subframes were 12 minutes binned 1x1, while the RGB subframes
were combined from exposures of 4 minutes binned 2x2, and 12 minutes binned 1x1, resulting in the
following total exposures L:(R+Ha):G:B (in min) = 432:(88 +84):88:88. Captured with Nebulosity,
calibrated and sigma combined in Iris with other processing using PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS.
North is up.
