NGC 2438 (PK 231+04.2, PN G231.8+04.1) Planetary Nebula in Puppis. This planetary nebula lies along
the line of sight with the open star cluster M46. Taken over many nights in March 2012, Jan. 2013,
and Feb. 2014. Imaged with CCD Lab’s Q285M camera and a Celestron EdgeHD 9.25 at f10, on a Losmandy
G11/Gemini mount. The H alpha and OIII subframes were 15, 20 and 30 minutes binned 1x1 and 2x2,
while the RGB subframes were 4 minutes binned 2x2 resulting in the following total exposures
(HA+OIII):(R+Ha):(G+OIII):(B+OIII) (min) = ( 555+660):(44+555):(44+660):(44+660). This image is
displayed at 0.57 arc-seconds per pixel. Captured with Nebulosity, calibrated, sigma combined in
Iris with other processing using PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS. North is up.
