UGC 7170

UGC 7170 “Superthin” spiral galaxy type Scd. UGC 7170 has an axial ratio of 11.6 and has a
prominent warp to the optical disk. It is also a member of the NGC 4155 group of galaxies.
Taken Apr. 7, 8, 9 and 16, 2010. Imaged with CCD Lab’s Q285M Camera and a C8N at f5 on a
Losmandy G11/Gemini mount. This is a crop of a larger image containing UGC 7170 and NGC 4147

The L subframes were 5 minutes binned 1x1, while the RGB frames were 3 minutes binned 1x1.
The final total exposures were L : R : G : B (min) = 240 : 60 : 60: 60. Captured with Nebulosity,
calibrated and sigma combined in Iris with final processing using PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS.
North is up.
