NGC 3414 (Arp 162)

NGC 3414 (Arp 162) spiral galaxy, type SB0, in Leo Minor. This galaxy is included in the Arp atlas of
peculiar galaxies in the category of “Diffuse Filaments”. The galaxy at top center is NGC 3418 (type
S0/Sa), while the galaxy at the lower center is UGC 5958 (type Sbc). Taken Mar 10, 13, 14, 17, and 19th
2010. Imaged with CCD Lab’s Q285M Camera and a C8N at f5 on a Losmandy G11/Gemini mount.
The L subframes were 5 minutes, while the RGB frames were 2 minutes. The final total exposures were
L : R : G : B (min) = 275 : 60 : 60: 60. Captured with Nebulosity, calibrated and sigma combined in Iris
with other processing using PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS. North is up.
