NGC 2537, spiral galaxy type SBm, also cataloged as Arp 006 (upper right) and IC 2233
“Superthin” spiral galaxy type Sd (lower left) in Lynx. NGC 2537 is also referred to as
the “Bear claw/paw” galaxy do to its unusual shape. Also visible is NGC 2537a, spiral
galaxy type SBc, top center. Taken Jan 19 and Feb 19 2009 with CCD Lab’s Q285M
and a C8N at f5 on a Losmandy G11/Gemini mount. All subframes were 4 minutes
binned 1x1 resulting in the following total exposures L:R:G:B (min) = 156:60:60:60.
Captured with Nebulosity, calibrated and sigma combined in Iris with other processing
using PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS. North is up
