Bella, Aussie

Yellow Wood, Indiana

Bella arrived with her two unsocialized 6 month old pups. They had been on their own for so long that Bella had completely forgotten how to act around people. They were found living off of a deer carcass. Bella wouldn't let us touch her at first. We didn't think she would ever warm up to us! After two weeks we temperament tested her and found out what a sweetheart she really was! So very shy and sensitive to touch (she cried whenever we touched her), but just looking for someone to trust. From then on she became my buddy. This is a picture of her going hiking with me on one of my days off. I spent so much time with her she became housebroken and has gotten over all of her sensitivity issues. The first dog I've ever really fallen in love with. She was adopted to a wonderful woman who found out that Bella had a congenetal defect that caused one of the valves of her heart to not close properly. Amazingly enough, the woman who adopted Bella had two other dogs who had heart surgery, so was experienced with taking dogs to Purdue to have this done. Last I knew Bella was thriving in her new home.
