Makeshift memorial at a location within about 1 block and 1/2 from my home. Young man and his female friend coming home late (police estimate around 3am) went into a small creek bed /ravine area just before this memorial and guardrail.

No one saw the accident, and one elderly lady who lives in an apartment near there said she heard it around 3 am (giving the police their time), but thought nothing of it and was not mobile enough to check anything out. The accident was not discovered until about 9:00am that morning. My daughter's bus stop is about 60 ft. away from here and she catches her bus at 8:30. I am thankful she didn't see it. I don't think it would have made a difference to the occupants, and it saved her from the trauma that would have been for a 10 yr. old.

The young man died (I believe he was 18 ) and the girl was airlifted to a hospital. I don't think she died, but I haven't heard anything about a follow up on her condition.

Three times the legal limit, no seatbelt, clear road (this was before Thanksgiving)....too much too young.
