La Punt-Chamues

view map

Dominating the village are richly decorated farmhouses and grand patrician houses from the 16th and 17th centuries. Take the Albertini houses, for example, with their Biedermeier façade overlooking the street, or the impressive Sandoz house with its impressive hall-like passageway into the heart of the building – and of course the famous Restaurant Chesa Pirani with its baroque panelled parlour and its two Michelin stars. The location of the picturesque village is also excellent – strategically situated at the sunny foot of the Albula Pass, directly beside the river Inn. In winter, when the pass road is closed, toboggans have priority here.

I love those typical shapes of the churchtowers in the Alp countries.
