With the decoration of the bench, Jujol breaks away from the artistic tradition of the 19th century and anticipates the Cubist avant-garde that was gathering force in France. Combining fragments, colors and textures with apparent connection, the artist creates shapes that don´t adhere to any known norm.
The bench is 110 mts. long half the perimeter of the large square.
