Gone With The Decades - Honorable Mention: 2008 IPA

Update Sept. 2008:
This image was part of a series "The Forgotten Churches" that received two Honorable Mention awards in the International Photography Awards contest.
The Architecture-Historic Category and the Architecture-Interiors Category.
There were a total of 22,872 images submitted from 124 countries in the contest.

Ruins of an old church, no roof, trees grow inside among the beautiful polychromy paintings.
It's only last twenty-some years that the roof collapsed, but nobody helped the church to get rebuilt.

really nice detail in the nearest archway and in the brickwork. Interesting curves. Shame to see such an ornate building decay.
