Wielkie Oczy

Poland

A unique greek-catholic church in Wielkie Oczy was built in 1925. Its construction contains a brick frame, so called prussian wall. Now it is not in use any more.
Cerkiew w Wielkich Oczach, wybudowana w 1925 r., posiada unikalną w tej architekturze konstrukcję. Jest to tzw. mur pruski (konstrukcja szkieletowa). Obecnie cerkiew nie jest użytkowana.

MY GRAND-FATHER WAS BORN IN THIS TOWN DEC 6TH 1891. He was greek catholic and I am sure he went to this church.

I think this one is my favourite in the whole series, there is a soft melancholy and the bare trees brak the images giving a special impact.

Great capture!! We can see that it's been neglected, but I still think that it has preserved some of its glory... The fresh cut trees add to the story of the photo...

Dramatic picture! Beautiful composition! The message is also very strong and very deep. "You can cut the trees but you cannot remove them!" and same for church, nobody can take it from there! Forever... great picture!
