Bang Pa-In

The royal summer palace in the small town of Bang Pa-In, Ayutthaya Province, has a history dating back to the 17th century. The present palace dates from the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama 5). Today the palace is used occasionally by Their Majesties King Bhumibol Adylyadej (Rama 9) and Queen Sirikit as a residence and for state occasions.
