Peggy's got a new coat on the way due to a moult
(is late June a sensible time to moult?).
She will soon be shiny black & white flecks again with a bit of
extra help from a 1/2 teaspoon per day of cold-pressed wheatgerm oil
which is rich in Vitamin E.
And she's also gotten a new red collar! There's a story here:
She came back indoors one morning in early June without her yellow collar.
Did I not put it back on before she went out in the garden?
Did she pull it off over her ears? Searched indoors and around the garden
for 3 days and there was not a sign of it, so ordered a new one.
In the meantime quite worried in case she might have eaten it
(goodness only knows how) but once all reasonable explanations have gone...
Anyway, scanned her with a metal detector and nothing showed up.
So the nice new collar arrives, then a couple of days later picking
very low-down raspberries what do I see but a metal D ring and a very soggy
yellow collar stuck on a stubby branch at the bottom of a rosebush.
So now she has a collection of collars in her little wardrobe!.
You may also notice that Peggy has now lost that disconnected hard stare
so typical of rescue dogs that haven't fully settled in and can now look
directly and more softly at the person with the camera.
