I spent a bunch of time today messing around with my new Lightroom 5. It isn't a whole lot different than Lightroom 2. There are some new modules, but I only really use Library and Develop and they haven't changed very much. So I figured I might give tone mapping a try and see what happens. I pulled out this photo we took last year of the Abyss Pool in Yellowstone and started pushing sliders and using the adjustment brush. After a while I got a result that I liked and here it is. It is easy to get carried away with all the colors, so judicious application is called for. For the record, Ginny's take on it might be summed up as, "ho hum."
