Does anyone remember Martyn Prideaux who I believe was on the Arethusa from 1966 / 68 ?. I would like to surprise him by catching up with some of the old boys but I have no idea of anyones names. He has been to visit the Peking in New York which is now in a very poor state but we manages to find his old number on a girder where you would have hung your hammocks. If anyone remembers him can you please let me know as he drives me crazy talking about the ARE. He is 60 in a few weeks so it would be A nice surprise if I could put him in touch with some one who shared the experience. Where is the reunion being held Sept 7th 2013 ??

I too have fond memories of the old "ARE" between 1950/52 - hard but happy days!
I remember Shacks (PTI?) and tiny Fuller, the Wiz, who started me in a life in Communications, with great affection. My sb number was 93 in those days - something you don't forget. Must check her out in New York, she certainly looks smarter these days!

The TS Arethusa changed my life for the better even though it was tough going sometimes for boys from the ages of 13 to 15. I have some very fond memories of my life onboard the ship from 1960 to 1962. My number was 61 and I started on mess 7 but was promoted to Leading Hand on mess 22 (I think). I remember that particular mess because there was a boy on there who lost his eye which was replace by a false one. Some of you may remember 'Shaks' the 'Wizard' etc.
