It is strange that everybody assumes that aliens do not have wood, or a very similar substance. They also have metals the same as ours, they are made of flesh and blood the same as us, albeit in a different shape.
Try and count the different shapes and composition of every living thing on this planet.
Aliens have the same amount or more. Some are amazingly similar to the point of being identical.
