it has to be illustrious, its the only royal navy aircraft carrier. Even though they have no aircraft that can fly from it anymore. has helicopters, due to be destroyed in 2014. Another part of "great" britain gone.

They do take things very seriously John.
I was on Ark Royal one day when it was open to the public and they had sailors patrolling with guns.
I may be wrong but i hope not, but i'd like to think that if an enemy sub was in the area they'd know about it.
HMS Liverpool visited Liverpool last week and sailed out from the Mersey for the last time on monday just gone.
A really successful visit.
It's to be decomissioned at Portsmouth in the coming months.

Thanks John, I wonder why they keep it secret, hope they are not expecting an enemy sub to creep in the harbour and sink it.

Looks very much like HMS Illustrious John, 99% sure.
It was at Liverpool tied up at the Pier Head for 5 days October 2009 when i got lotsa fotos.
There was a huge flypast one day too with Prince Andrew taking the salute.
Nice foto you got.
