The eggs hatched sometime between now and last Wednesday. They're starting out with six, and were pretty protective of them...kept them between the two of them most of the time, and intently watched a Great Blue Heron that flew into the pond and then proceeded around the edge....when it got too close, they took them back into the reeds where they couldn't be seen...
